Exhibition and More Professional Practice
Exhibition
This week we have been working towards our exhibition, which opened on Wednesday night. It proved to be quite a popular event, with plenty of friends and family members coming out to see everyone's lovely work! It was mostly planned with the illustration students' 'collections' module, but the animators were asked to put something in too. And so with this in mind, I thought that it would be best to keep in with the theme and do a collection of something. So I decided to take some of my character designs from my Pre-Production module and place them all together in a collection. A collection of character designs! I also showed my monster walk animation from last term, just to try and get a little bit of moving image in there!
Overall it was a great event, and after popping by this weekend with my parents, I've seen that a lot of people have left some lovely feedback on the bunting we had left for them to write their thoughts down on. Here are some pictures of the exhibition which I took on opening night:
A bit more Professional Practice
I have recently put together an illustrative CV that I can use in the future. This includes general information about me and also my skills, including what programs I am able to use. This is something that is handy to have as it means that all my information is available in one document. So I can send this out alongside any promotional material I decide to send to agencies etc.
Here are some examples of Cv's which I took inspiration from, followed by my own.
I chose to make my CV as colourful as possible and included textures so that future employers can get a gist of my kind of style. I do however think it makes it appear slightly busy, not having a particular colour scheme. So eventually I may change it and make it slightly more refined.
I am also looking to put together a showreel within the next year, which I can make available on my website for people to see. This will include my best animations and show potential employers my skill set. I will also be able to include my website on my CV in the future, so that it is easier to access.
